2018 Winter Beef Expo Junior Show Results

The Minnesota Beef Expo is proud to exist one of the largest youth cattle shows in the Upper Midwest. Each fall, judges sort almost 1,000 caput of cattle to pick the all-time of the best, merely it'south the 500 kids behind those cattle that thing nigh.

Inferior SHOW BREEDS


Subject to change based on financial support from breed system. A minimum of five (5) head per breed is needed to agree a show. Other brood classes may be added if entries and financial support warrant.

Angus: Must be registered every bit 100% Angus
British White Park: Must be registered equally American British White Park or British White
Charolais: Must be registered as 31/32 blood or more
Charolais Composite: Must be registered at to the lowest degree 50% Charolais

Registration
  • All animals must exist pre-registered online unless purchased at the Expo sale. No entries volition exist accepted at the show with the exception of animals purchased during the show. Entries for sale animals must exist made at time of settlement.
    • Entries submitted by Monday, Oct. x at 11:59 p.one thousand., will qualify for the early entry fee of $55/head
    • Entries submitted by the final deadline of Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 11:59 p.one thousand., must pay the entry fee of $75/head
  • Each exhibitor will be limited to 2 entries per class.
  • If y'all are unable to access the online organization, please contact 651-643-6476 or info@mnbeefexpo.com.
  • Registrations for showmanship must be completed online, and entries will shut on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.thousand. No entries volition be accepted after this time. Exhibitors must also confirm their entry with the bear witness role in lodge to compete.
  • Heifers and steers are only eligible to testify in one brood show and sectionalisation.
  • All animals must exist exhibited past the junior in whose name the animate being has been entered. If an event comes upwards where the junior cannot showroom the fauna, it must exist exhibited by another junior registered to show at the Expo.
Fees
  • Entry fee must back-trail the registration unless the creature is consigned at the Expo auction. Entry fees for animals purchased at the sale are waived.

      • Late fee (entries submitted by Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 11:59 p.g.): $75/head
      • Entry fee includes bedding
    • Tie-out fee: $20/caput

Bank check-In, Arrival & Stalling
  • Animals will be allowed to enter the barns on Thursday, Oct. 20, from half-dozen a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, October. 21, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. All animals must exist in place by Friday at x a.m. No exceptions.
  • If you arrive after 8 p.m. on Thursday, you may non take stalls in the barn or in tie-outs, and your cattle must remain on your trailer until the office opens once again for stalling on Friday at half-dozen a.thousand.
  • All animals will be stalled on a offset-come, start-serve basis. No stalling requests volition be taken before Thursday at half-dozen a.m.
  • Exhibitors must check in at the testify part prior to unloading to receive their stalling assignments.
  • Junior testify check-in (including showmanship) will exist on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 6 a.thousand. to eight p.chiliad., and Friday, Oct. 21, from 8-x a.grand. All animals, including prospect steers, prospect heifers and market beef, must check-in during inferior bear witness check-in.
  • Prospect steers, prospect heifers and market beef must exist checked in by Friday at 11 a.m., and volition be weighed from 1-three p.m.
Paperwork
  • Animals must have a legible ear tattoo corresponding to the purebred registration certificate recognized by the breed association to exist eligible to show in a purebred division or class. Any creature not coming together this criteria volition be moved to an appropriate commercial division or class.
  • All breeding females must have proof of registration. This will exist checked by the show staff at check-in.
General Information
  • Youth ages 7 to 21 on the showtime day of the Expo may exhibit animals or participate in junior activities.
  • Any brood with fewer than five entries may non be offered, and entries volition be placed in another advisable class.
  • All entries must exist registered or recorded with their corresponding breed organization and owned past the exhibitor, either jointly by understanding or past the subcontract/ranch of the immediate family.
  • Any eligible junior who violates whatsoever of the rules of the Expo, knowingly attempts to misrepresent an beast or its registration, or acts in an unbecoming style, shall be disqualified for exhibition and no premiums shall exist paid. Such action shall exist taken every bit accounted necessary by the Minnesota Beefiness Expo Executive Board.
  • Exhibitors must follow the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) National Code of Evidence Ring Ethics. Past entering, the exhibitor agrees to abide by the IAFE lawmaking of ideals. Submission of entry indicates acceptance of all rules, regulations and releases associated with the upshot, including photos taken during the Expo past staff or official photographers that may exist used for promotional reasons.
  • Space is not guaranteed for training chutes, and tack space will be limited. Juniors are encouraged to share grooming chutes and tack areas.
  • If an animal gets away from an exhibitor three times during a competition, the exhibitor and fauna will be excused from the show ring.

  • Heifers or steers are only eligible to show in one breed testify and division.
